Mattress shopping questions, answered.

How do I choose a mattress?
Start with the size your room and frame can take, then set a budget for the complete setup. Compare firmness and construction separately. Shortlist a few models, read their exact specifications and terms, and try your usual sleeping positions in a showroom. There is no one best mattress for everyone.
What is the difference between a hybrid and an innerspring mattress?
Both use springs for support. A hybrid combines a coil support system with substantial comfort layers such as foam or latex. Labels overlap, so compare the actual layers, height, feel and support requirements of each model instead of assuming the label decides comfort.
How much does a mattress cost?
Cost varies with size, construction, brand and options. Use the size selector and filters to compare the size you need, and include the frame or foundation, accessories, taxes, the recycling fee and any delivery or removal charges in your total.
Can I try these mattresses in Los Angeles?
Yes — at Koreatown, West LA, La Brea, Studio City or Glendale. Call ahead to confirm, because online inventory and showroom display availability are different.
Is a firmer mattress always more supportive?
No. Firmness describes the surface feel; support depends on the construction and how it works for the sleeper. Labels are not standardised across brands, so compare actual models rather than a firmness number.
How do delivery and the comfort exchange work?
Free white-glove delivery when merchandise after discounts is $499 or more, $50 below that, within 50 miles of our Koreatown warehouse. The 120-night comfort exchange is one same-size exchange after 30 nights with no exchange fee; optional pickup and redelivery by our team is $100 total. This is an exchange, not a money-back trial.
Why are these mattresses discounted?
Mostly because they’re last season’s models or because we’re rotating in newer styles. Brands periodically refresh their lineups and we discount the previous-generation models to clear floor space. The mattresses themselves haven’t changed in quality, just the year on the spec sheet.
Can I see clearance mattresses in person before buying?
Yes, clearance mattresses are typically on the floor at the same showrooms where they were originally displayed. Call the showroom nearest you to confirm availability before driving over: Koreatown (213) 984-4654, West LA (310) 507-8024, La Brea (323) 275-4715, Studio City (818) 247-7790, Glendale (800) 218-3578.

About floor model & clearance mattresses at LA Mattress

Floor Model & Discontinued Mattress Clearance in Los Angeles

Our floor model and discontinued mattress clearance sale offers some of the best mattress deals in Los Angeles. These are brand-name mattresses from top manufacturers, including Tempur-Pedic, Stearns & Foster, and more, available at deeply discounted prices because they're showroom display models or recently discontinued styles. At LA Mattress Stores, our clearance selection rotates frequently across all five Los Angeles locations, so the best deals move fast.

Why Buy a Floor Model or Discontinued Mattress?

  • Significant Savings: Floor models and discontinued mattresses are typically discounted 40-70% off original retail prices. You get the same quality construction and materials at a fraction of the cost.
  • Premium Brand Quality: These aren't budget mattresses. They're the same premium brands we carry at full price, just in outgoing styles or gently used display models.
  • Minimal Wear: Floor models have been used for testing in our showrooms but are sanitized and inspected before sale. Many have only been lightly tested by shoppers.

What to Expect from Clearance Mattresses

Floor models may show minor cosmetic signs of showroom use, but the core construction and comfort materials are fully intact. Discontinued models are often brand new in packaging, the manufacturer simply stopped producing that particular style to make room for updated models. In many cases, the "new" replacement model features only minor updates, making the discontinued version an exceptional value.

Our clearance inventory changes regularly as we rotate floor models and receive discontinued stock. We recommend visiting our showrooms or checking this page frequently to catch the best deals. Popular sizes and premium brands sell quickly, so don't wait if you find a mattress you love at a clearance price.

What goes on sale and why. Brand promos (Tempur-Pedic, Stearns & Foster, Helix, Diamond run quarterly sales that we honor, sometimes deeper); seasonal markdowns (Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Black Friday, Boxing Week, the calendar follows the rest of US retail); and floor-model swaps when a new model lands or a current one ages out of the lineup.
