A standard queen mattress is 60 inches wide by 80 inches long. It comfortably fits one adult with room to spread out, or two adults who don't mind sleeping close. We recommend a bedroom at least 10x10 feet to leave walking space around the bed; 12x12 or larger is ideal.
A queen is 6 inches wider than a full (60" vs 54") and 5 inches longer (80" vs 75"). For couples, queen is the practical minimum, full is too narrow to share comfortably. For a single adult, full works if your room is tight, but queen is worth the upgrade if you have the space and the budget.
A standard queen foundation, box spring, slatted platform bed, or adjustable base all work. Slats should be no more than 3 inches apart for foam and hybrid mattresses, otherwise the warranty may not cover sagging.
